The Center for Prenatal Development, PC, is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and led by board-certified perinatologist Dr. Stephanie Hedstrom. Perinatology is the medical specialty that deals with caring for women with high-risk pregnancies, although many of our patients are not experiencing or expecting high-risk pregnancies.

We see pregnant women from most health plans. We specialize in caring for those patients who may have complications or who are expecting multiple births. Some high-risk pregnancies involve medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension or high blood pressure. Patients are usually referred to us by their primary physician or obstetrician.

We use state-of-the-art technology and provide a full range of perinatal services, including 3-D ultrasound, CVS (chorionic villus sampling), biophysical profiles, the healthy multiples program and genetic counseling. Some of these services may be requested by the patient’s obstetrician.

At CPD, we strive to give our patients as much information as we can, delivered in plain-spoken terms. And we do this in a caring environment designed to give our patients comfort and understanding about their pregnancies.
