Staff Bios
Julie Krawchuck
Julie has been involved in nursing for more than 12 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of New Mexico in 1998. She earned her Masters of Science degree in nursing from the University of St. Francis, Albuquerque, as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2004. Julie is deeply involved in clinical research and case management, focusing on endocrinology and diabetes education. At CPD, she helps Dr. Hedstrom treat, counsel and educate patients about metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. Julie is also Director of DiaCare, the Diabetes Health and Wellness program at the Center for Prenatal Development.

Carolyn Ansell
Carolyn has been serving women and families in Albuquerque as a midwife since 1992. She received her Masters of Science in Midwifery from Yale University in 1987. Carolyn provides education and advice for mothers of twins, counseling for prenatal testing, diabetes management and has played a key role in developing the STEP (Stop Tobacco, Enjoy Pregnancy) program offered at the Center for Prenatal Development. Carolyn's strong background in midwifery and interest in all phases of pregnancy allow her to help Dr. Hedstrom and Dr. Rappaport give women information that assists them in growing healthy babies.

Ana Kelly
Ana is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Diabetes Educator. She works closely with Julie and Carolyn to provide information and education to diabetic patients, including women with gestational diabetes and people with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Christy Koil
Christy earned her Master's Degree in Medical Genetics from the Univ. of Cincinnati in 2002 and her Board Certification From the American Board of Genetic Counseling in 2005. As a Genetics Counselor at CPD, Christy provides preconception and prenatal counseling designed to assist families in assessing their risks associated with pregnancy. Christy also has developed a Grief Support progam which meets the 1st Thursday of each month, for families who have suffered the loss of a child, either during pregnancy or shortly after birth. This program is free and open to the public.

Suzanna Schott
Suzanna's Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling was awarded by Johns Hopkins Univeristy in January of 2006. Since that time, Suzanna has been actively working as a genetics counselor in Albuquerque before joining the Center for Prenatal Development, PC in August of 2007. Suzanna has a special interest in infertility, and assists Christy with the Grief program.

Angela Weese
Angela is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. She received her degree from the University of New Mexico in 1991. She has been part of CPD since January of 2003. Angela works with Dr. Hedstrom in performing diagnostic ultrasounds to evaluate for birth defects and follow growth and development.

Tammy Ellison
Tammy Ellison is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. She received her bachelor of science degree from West Texas State University. She received her degree in ultrasound from Ultrasound Diagnostic School in 1996. She has been with CPD since April of 2004. Tammy works with Dr. Hedstrom in performing diagnostic ultrasounds to evaluate for birth defects and follow growth and development.

Teresa Martinez
Teresa is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer who has been part of the CPD team since October of 2006. Teresa earned her Associate of Science degree at TVI in Albuquerque in 2003. Teresa works with the physician's in performing diagnostic ultrasounds to evaluate for birth defects and follow growth and development.
