Can I use a hot tub?
In the early part of the pregnancy (the first six weeks), high temperature, whether from a fever or hot water immersion, may cause a birth defect called spina bifida. After the first part of the pregnancy you can use your hot tub if you lower the temperature to 99-100 degrees and limit the time you are in the tub. You should not feel overheated or lightheaded. Spend no more than 10-15 minutes in the tub and then take a break allowing yourself to cool down. Check with your provider about your personal situation.
