Why can’t I sleep on my stomach or my back?
As the pregnancy progresses past 18-20 weeks the uterus is large enough to compress the vena cava. The vena cava brings blood back to the heart. When the vena canva compresses, your blood pressure will drop and you may feel dizzy and nauseated. This lower blood pressure also will decrease the blood flow to the uterus.
